Based on the skills required, Skylight Tubes can be installed in two hours by a professional and in approximately four hours by nonprofessionals.

Online retailer TheHardwareCity.com has announced it is now carrying Spectrum Skylight Tubes. This new addition to the company’s catalog offers homeowners and contractors alternatives to traditional, full-size skylights and roof windows at far less the cost and the installation hardships.

According to Asha Rani, owner of TheHardwareCity.com, Spectrum Skylight Tubes are easy to install and can provide a wealth of natural light in almost any desired location.

“Unlike a traditional skylight or a roof window, the Spectrum Skylight Tube requires no reframing or major structural changes be done prior to installation,” Rani said. “Based on the skills required, Skylight Tubes can be installed in two hours by a professional and in approximately four hours by nonprofessionals.”

The ability to place Spectrum Skylight Tubes virtually anywhere is due largely to the fact they feature eight to 12 foot flexible tubing options. Skylight Tubes are available in three different sizes—14 inches, 18 inches and 21 inches. Additionally, two enhancements are available for Skylight Tubes. First, if bends are not necessary in the tube, a Rigid Tube Kit can be used. This will increase reflectivity by 95 percent. The length of the Rigid Tube Kits can be expanded with two-foot sections. Second, Spectrum also offers an industry first ventilation option.

“The ventilation option is really impressive,” Rani said. “It just snaps on to the Skylight Tube and will freshen the air in places that can really use it like kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and garages.”
Spectrum Skylight Tubes are designed to endure severe weather, and they are able to withstand a live load of more than 260 pounds. Just as important to homeowners, Skylight Tubes will negate the need for having electric lights turned on all the time, reducing utility costs. Maybe most importantly, the product provides people with the healthy benefits of natural light.
