The Stephi’s on Tremont sous chef marked the momentous day by doing what he does best: cooking.

“I have always had an interest in cooking and have wanted to be a chef since I was young,” said Spencer Streetman, 30, of Newton.

Spencer Streetman learned to cook long before he received his Degree in Culinary Arts from Providence-based Johnson & Wales University in 2004.

“My mother really gave me the foundation for cooking. Since graduation I have been working and learning what I could from other professionals,” Spencer Streetman said.

He also worked for the Harvard Club of Boston after which, he worked as a sous chef for Bakers’ Best cafe.

As Spencer Streetman reflects on his career in the kitchen, he is thankful he was able to cook for various restaurants and organizations, thus earning valuable experience.

“I have no problem adapting to new kitchens, I learn pretty quickly and am able to add my own personal touch to any dish,” Spencer Streetman said. “I just hit my eighth year in the culinary field, and I plan to keep going.”
