Vertical Learning Curve (VLC), a leader in the field of 3D learning, announced that its Human Resource Continuing Education (HRCE) programs have been approved by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), a strategic partner of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Vertical Learning Curve’s approved programs meet requirements for Professional in Human Resources (PHR®), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®), and Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR®) recertification.

“We are proud to be an HRCI Approved Provider. VLC’s uniquely engaging training is perfect for certified HR professionals,” said Steve Kubicek, Vice President Marketing for VLC. “These programs use advanced 3D simulations allowing participants to immerse themselves in a virtual company, interact with avatar colleagues, and learn by doing within dynamic real ‘business world’ scenarios. People tell us that they forget they are taking the program for CE credit and feel more like they are playing a strategic HR video game. VLC’s goal is to not only make learning fun and relevant, but to make it sticky as well. As participants progress through VLC’s training they create a ‘real history,’ enabling them to later draw from the virtual experience and make better decisions and positive contributions within their workplace.”

HRCI requires that certified HR professionals recertify their credentials every three years. The most popular method for recertifying is by obtaining 60 hours of Continuing Education (CE) Credits. Vertical Learning Curve offers the convenience of on-line, self-paced CE credit programs in strategic management, international, and general credit categories. VLC's HR Continuing Education (HRCE) programs range between 20 and 30 CE credits per course and are affordably priced at only $17.50 per CE credit. “We’ve purposely priced the offerings to attract the attention of HR professionals and introduce them to the idea of having VLC create customized immersive learning environments for their company’s employees,” said Kubicek. VLC specializes in the development of premier training including an Executive MBA program and other graduate and undergraduate courses being delivered by a growing list of colleges and universities.

“I found Vertical Learning Curve when I researched credits for my SPHR renewal. VLC offered a Marketing course I could take at my own pace, was interactive, and challenging. As an HR professional, I was surprised at how many of the marketing skills apply to my daily work, and leadership position in my local SHRM chapter,” said Keri Sowerby, SPHR President, Northstate SHRM, Redding, CA and HR Administrator, The Knot Inc. “I encourage all SHRM members to consider Vertical Learning Curve for their personal education as well as for workplace training needs.”

According to the Human Resource Certification Institute it has awarded more than 108,000 credentials in over 70 countries to HR professionals who have passed rigorous exams to demonstrate their mastery and real-world application of forward-thinking HR practices, policies and procedures. The HRCI recently released the results of its global survey of human resources (HR) professionals. They found that HR certification is highly respected, shows a commitment to the profession, and lifelong learning. Moreover, certified HR professionals advance faster in their careers and are more valued by their organizations for their leadership. In order to meet HRCI’s approval, Vertical Learning Curve’s offerings had to comply with the NCCA Standards for the Accreditation of Certification Programs. NCCA is the accrediting body of the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA), the same organization that approves colleges and universities.
