EOS can be utilized for patients of all ages

ATLANTA & EATONTOWN, N.J. (Business Wire EON) June 11, 2008 -- biospace med, an emerging medical technology company based in Atlanta, announced today that Eatontown, NJ-based New Jersey Spine Group, LLC, is the first healthcare facility in the United States to install the Company's FDA-cleared 'EOS' x-ray imager—the world's first ultra-low-dose x-ray technology. The first EOS installation at a U.S. healthcare facility comes on the heels of a resolution introduced earlier this month in the U.S. House of Representatives, "H. Res. 1216", which proposes to reduce radiation dosages used in the imaging of children.

EOS can capture head-to-toe images of patients in a standing, weight-bearing position with a dramatic reduction in radiation dose—up to 10 times less than a conventional x-ray and up to 1000 times less than a CT (Computed Tomography) scan. Additionally, EOS images provide remarkable detail, enabling physicians to better diagnose and plan an effective course of treatment.
