Daily Word® Magazine Goes Bimonthly

Unity House Publishing will begin distributing its flagship devotional magazine, Daily Word, on a bimonthly basis starting with the July/August 2009 issue. The issue will also mark the magazine's 85th anniversary.

Unity Village, MO (Vocus/PRWEB ) June 11, 2009 -- Unity House Publishing will begin distributing its flagship devotional magazine, Daily Word, on a bimonthly basis starting with the July/August 2009 issue. The issue will also mark the magazine's 85th anniversary.

One of America's longest running spiritual publications, Daily Word was started in 1924 by Unity movement co-founders Charles and Myrtle Fillmore. The magazine currently has more than 600,000 subscribers worldwide and is published in seven languages. The frequency change applies to all editions including Daily Word in Large Type and La Palabra Diaria®.

Like other publishers, Unity House is responding to rising printing and postage costs and an increasing demand from readers for green packaging. "The new 'double issues' will include daily messages for two months, while reducing the total number of pages from 96 to 80," said Unity Vice President of Communications Paula Coppel. The new format will still include articles, poems and letters from readers as currently featured in Daily Word.

The U.S subscription price will remain the same. However, the cover price of the new double issue will increase to $4.95 with the July/August 2009 issue.

As part of the changes, Daily Word will also feature an updated logo and a fresh new design. "We've enhanced readability throughout the magazine, particularly in our large-type version, where readers will find more color and a slightly smaller, more convenient size, which is easier to carry and more suitable for display on magazine racks," said Managing Editor Laura Harvey.

The dailyword.com® Web site is also being updated, as Daily Word prepares to offer an online subscription option, which will be free to print subscribers for a limited time. "Online readers will have another way to access the daily messages and share them with others," said Paula Coppel.

"Of course, some things are not changing," said Laura Harvey. "Generations of readers have viewed Daily Word as a beloved companion on their life journeys. Our affirmative messages of hope, healing and inspiration will continue."

Daily Word subscribers were informed of the changes through announcements in the April, May and June 2009 issues. More information is available at www.dailyword.com/changes.
