Sportsideo, the rapidly growing sports community, announced today that it will carry On Campus Sports’ collegiate sports coverage. Sportsideo’s agreement with On Campus Sports provides Sportsideo’s sports community with the unique perspective and on-the-ground coverage of their favorite college teams and athletic programs as seen through the eyes of student journalists attending each university.    You can see any of Sportsideo’s sports coverage including On Campus Sports’ articles by clicking here.

“Sportsideo is very excited to carry On Campus Sports and to expand our unique brand of sports coverage,” said Steve Vesce, Sportsideo’s Managing Director. “Sportsideo remains focused on sports coverage that highlights and celebrates the sports experience – for all sports participants – athletes, coaches, scouts, trainers, nutritionists, and yes, news reporters. We view this new relationship with On Campus Sports as an important opportunity for us to provide our community with a unique perspective into their favorite college teams as reported by journalists who attend, and are on the ground at each of the universities covered by On Campus Sports. Sportsideo sees our new relationship with On Campus Sports as an important step toward our goal of celebrating the sports experience for all people who participate in, and who contribute to a sport,” concluded Vesce.

“We’re thrilled to provide this opportunity to our student journalists,” said Rayo Nulsen, President of On Campus Sports. “They come to us for the chance to see their bylines published to a national platform, and now we are able to essentially double their exposure. This is a natural alignment that makes sense for everyone. Sportsideo offers a national distribution channel and state-of-the-art video technology, and in return OCS provides unique, original content from a campus-level perspective that isn’t found in mainstream media. Plus, it’s a great resume builder for our students.”

Fueled by partnerships with Communication and Journalism departments, On Campus Sports currently staffs student journalists at more than 60 campuses, with plans to expand to every Division I university by the Spring of 2013.
