It’s about practicing what you preach. You can’t promote better health if you don’t practice better health.
Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) October 31, 2012
On November 3rd, 2012, the third annual Dolphins Cycling Challenge (DCC) will take place across South Florida. Riders will take to the streets of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County for this two-day, 170-mile charity ride, which benefits cancer research at University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. The physicians at Sports and Orthopedic Center, Dr. Manish Gupta and Dr. Jace Provo, will take part of this event in an effort to support the fight against cancer.
Both physicians have been preparing for the DCC through rigorous training sessions during their leisure time. Dr. Provo, who is an avid road cyclist, has ridden between 100 to 150 miles per week as part of his training. “With the busy schedule that we run, it can be a challenge to make the time,” stated Dr. Provo, “But like all exercise, you have to make the time to do it.”
Dr. Gupta and Dr. Provo are active members in the sports community. Whether it’s administering medical assistance at youth and collegiate sporting events or providing lectures about sports medicine, both physicians engage the community beyond the confines of their office. “It’s about practicing what you preach. You can’t promote better health if you don’t practice better health,” says Dr. Gupta.
