Protica Inc.’s new charitable program was recently named Advocate of the Month by the President’s Challenge, the premier program of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition.

The ProticaCares program was initiated to help teach children the importance of balanced nutrition along with exercise in an effort to encourage healthy diets and lifestyles. ProticaCares partnered with the President’s Challenge in early 2011 with the hope of combining the efforts of both programs in advocating nutrition and fitness.

Part of the ProticaCares program involves sending a weekly care package to parent/teacher-nominated children’s hospitals and schools across the United States. The package contains healthy, sweet treats along with PALA+ (Presidential Active Lifestyle Award: activity + nutrition) log form. Students can complete the PALA+ log to receive a certificate signed by the President of the United States.

"We are very excited to receive this recognition and to carry on our tradition of contributing to the President's Challenge Program. Our goal is to help create awareness of good nutrition for kids across the country, and we do this in a fun and 'tasty' way! Together with our corporate supporters, we continue to make a difference, one hospital and one classroom at a time", says Jim Duffy, president of Protica Research.

Parents and teachers interested in nominating a deserving classroom or child can visit the ProticaCares website and complete the nomination form.
