Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA), one of the largest state soccer associations in the United States, has agreed to a three-year extension with SportsSignup to continue providing roster management, online soccer registration and risk management services to the association and its member leagues and soccer clubs.

SportsSignup’s system allows players to register online through a web-based interface that is managed independently by each local soccer club. Club administrators then can submit rosters electronically from the system directly to ENYYSA leagues for approvals, giving state-level administrators tools to ensure compliance with both ENYYSA’s and US Youth Soccer rules regarding, for example, player transfers, dual registrations, photo pass printing, roster sizes and birth date verification.

SportsSignup has provided these services to ENYYSA since 2004, the year after the company was founded.

“We truly value our relationship with SportsSignup as we’ve grown together over the past seven years and look forward to continued success,” said Richard Christiano, president of ENYYSA. “With over 120,000 players, 12 member leagues, and hundreds of individual clubs, it is essential that we work with a company that is amenable and always available to support our organization. The SportsSignup system provides us with outstanding customer support that is essential to managing our multi-faceted organization due to the hierarchy of independent soccer organizations and leagues. Managing the different needs at each level is easier and more flexible thanks to our partnership with SportsSignup.”

SportsSignup’s service platform was developed to meet the needs of ENYYSA and other multi-tiered sports organizations, which typically consist of a governing association, one or more leagues, and their member clubs. Integration between individual member clubs, affiliated leagues, and ENYYSA is seamless, as the same database is used to manage all registration data.

The system works by allowing families to use a secure, SportsSignup-hosted web form to register their children to play for a specific soccer club through the club’s own website. A club administrator then places players on a team roster. The rosters are “submitted” to their affiliated league for approval. Once the rosters are electronically approved, official rosters and electronic photo player passes can be printed, all from an easy-to-use online interface.

The risk management feature of SportsSignup’s service requires all coaches and volunteers to complete and pass a secure coach background check application, powered by SportsSignup’s KidSafePlusSM software, to be eligible to participate in ENYYSA-sanctioned programs.

In addition to roster management and online coach criminal background checking services, SportsSignup’s online registration system also is used to manage ENYYSA’s Olympic Development and US Youth Soccer Eastern New York State Championships, ENYYSA Challenge Cup, President’s League, TOPSoccer program, and camp registration.

“The folks at ENYYSA are outstanding at anticipating future needs of their members, and helping to realize their vision over the past several years has resulted in a much easier and streamlined experience for players, families, club, league and state administrators,” said Anthony Bruno, CEO of SportsSignup. "We are extremely pleased to continue our strong partnership with ENYYSA and value their continued trust in us as a company.”
