IG Index has been confirmed as the UK’s leading financial spread-betting firm, according to 2009 Investment Trends Spread Betting and Contracts for Difference Report***.
The research – which revealed a 40% market share for IG Index in the UK – was jointly commissioned by a number of UK retail derivatives providers. This was the first time such a complete study has been conducted of UK investors who either are, or may be considering, financial spread betting.
The survey presented a clean sweep for IG Index, with the firm being rated above other UK financial spread-betting companies in every market-share measure used by Investment Trends. Based on dealing activity from July 2009, IG Index came top for the number of active spread-betting accounts, number of new accounts opened, number of primary accounts held and also on the volume of transactions handled.
The research also showed that 40% of active spread-betting clients hold their primary account with IG Index.
