6th Avenue Chelsea Festival
The Spring festival season gets underway with the 6th Avenue Chelsea Festival, which will be occurring in Manhattan and occupying the blocks from 23rd to 32nd Street on Saturday April 6, 2013. Start the weekend out right by strolling through this large New York City Street Festival that will have a variety of tasty cuisines to choose from, as well as homemade jewelry and arts and crafts being sold by the many vendors participating in the 6th Avenue Chelsea Festival. After guests have had their fill of the NYC festival, they can head to nearby Times Square to catch one of the popular Broadway shows or admire the view of Manhattan from high above by heading to the Top of the Rock in Rockefeller Center. 23rd Annual Upper Broadway
The 23rd Annual Upper Broadway Festival is one of the biggest New York City street fairs of the season, and is held in front of Columbia and Barnard Colleges. This year, it will take place on April 20, 2013, is expecting to attract upwards of 100,000 visitors. This New York City festival will consist of dozens of tents that will highlight the artistic feel of this particular fair with plenty of antiques and arts and crafts being sold. Chinatown Festival on Lafayette
The Chinatown Festival on Lafayette Street will have a distinctive Asian influence that will come out in the foods and other items being sold at this New York City street fair. This NYC street festival will set up from Canal Street to Leonard Street on April 21, 2013. After visitors have had a chance to explore the Chinatown Festival, browse through some of the Chinatown shops in the hopes of getting some additional bargains and New York City deals.
Lexington Avenue May 4
The slew of Spring NYC festivals continues into early May, and one to check out is the Lexington Avenue festival, which takes place on Lexington Avenue from 60th to 66th Street on May 4, 2013. Delicious smells will be wafting through the air and enticing visitors to order lunch or a snack at one of the vendors selling corn on the cob, tasty gyros, traditional carnival food or more authentic ethnic dishes. There will also be a variety of knick-knack stands peppered along the blocks, displaying affordable scarves and jewelry. The street fair will be situated between Brighton Beach Avenue and Brightwater Court. Since this Brooklyn street fair is so close to Coney Island, you’ll find tons of popular thing to do with kids nearby.
