In addition to enjoying a fun evening and supporting our school, attendees will have a unique opportunity to view and purchase art from some of the most talented artists in Baltimore.

Patterson Park Public Charter School (PPPCS), located in Baltimore, MD, will host its 6th annual “Spring Into Art” event on Saturday, March 19, 2011.

Spring Into Art is a fundraising event that features a silent auction showcasing fine art from more than 20 talented, Baltimore-area artists. 40% of the proceeds derived from art sales will be donated to PPPCS.

“We are very excited about hosting our 6th annual Spring Into Art event,” said Dr. Charles Kramer, Principal of Patterson Park Public Charter School. “It has been extremely successful for us in the past, as it brings together students, parents, staff and members of our great community. In addition to enjoying a fun evening and supporting our school, attendees will have a unique opportunity to view and purchase art from some of the most talented artists in Baltimore.”

A V.I.P. reception will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will include passed hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, music and the opportunity to place the first bid. Following the V.I.P. reception will be the Opening Celebration, where attendees will enjoy an evening of great art, food, drinks and music by The Philtones. At approximately 9:30 p.m., the official after party will take place at BistroRx, located at 2901 E Baltimore St, Baltimore, MD, where patrons can enjoy more food and drink that directly supports PPPCS.

Interested parties may purchase tickets for Spring Into Art online, at the door on event night, or directly from a PPPCS Board Member. Tickets are $40 per person for the entire event; $25 per person for Opening Celebration only. PPPCS will receive 91 cents on every dollar raised by the event, and the proceeds will be allocated into student education and programs.

PPPCS opened in fall 2005 after two years of planning by the Patterson Park Neighborhood Association and surrounding neighborhoods. The group wanted to establish a school that would give them a choice about where they could send their children, with a curriculum that emphasized a whole child approach to instruction, including hands-on learning, and the use of Patterson Park and the surrounding community. Patterson Park Public Charter School is located at 27 North Lakewood Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21224.
