Pledging to give a small amount each month to your favourite charity makes a huge difference.
London (PRWEB UK) 15 March 2013
In just a few days, Localgiving.com and Sussex Community Foundation’s Spring for a Year campaign has raised over £20,000 for local charities by matching monthly donations up to £10 a month for a year.
A pot of £10,000 in match funds was available to all Sussex charities on the Localgiving.com website. Donors who set up a monthly donation to a local charity saw it and matched by up to £10 a month for the next year, adding a further £120 to their original donation. With Gift Aid included, a £10 monthly donation becomes £22.50 a month or £270 a year.
More than 20 Sussex charities benefited from Spring for a Year, including:
De Etchingham CIC, Seaford Musical Theatre, the Weys & Arun Canal Trust, the Sail Boat Project, Pulborough Cricket Club, and Laughton Paris Hall.
Says Localgiving.com Founder, Marcelle Speller, OBE: “Pledging to give a small amount each month to your favourite charity makes a huge difference to their ability to continue the great work they do in your community. Knowing that £10 or more is coming in every month means small, local charities can become more financially secure, plan ahead with confidence, and expand their services to the community. A big thank you to everyone who set up a monthly donation during Spring for a Year. You’ll be amazed at the impact your gift will have!”
The Spring for a Year campaign in Sussex is now closed.
