PPS Announces Expanded Programs, Additional Speakers and Extended Schedule for 2011 Spring Pricing Conference

The Professional Pricing Society (PPS), the world's only professional society dedicated to pricing education and training, has announced the official extended schedule for the PPS 22nd Annual Spring Pricing Workshops and Conference to be held on May 3-6th, 2011 at the InterContinental Chicago O’Hare Airport Hotel.

The 22nd Annual Spring Conference boasts an unprecedented four-day format, which will include 7 pricing workshops and the return of our pre-recession, comprehensive, two-day pricing workshop format.

“We have reinstated two-day workshops as an option in response to PPS Member requests,” says Kevin Mitchell, PPS President. “Pricing training is in growing demand, and this year’s extended schedule is designed to support the growing importance of the pricing professional and pricing expertise worldwide through additional education, training and collaboration.”

The economic challenges of the past years and the slow pace of recovery have opened the eyes of global corporations and C-Level executives to pricing’s powerful impact on profits and long-term growth. Even Warren Buffett, the billionaire chief executive officer of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. and one of the most successful businessmen in the world, recently highlighted pricing’s crucial role in an interview with the United States Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission:

"The single most important decision in evaluating a business is pricing power,” Buffett said. “If you’ve got the power to raise prices without losing business to a competitor, you’ve got a very good business. In addition, the 22nd Annual Spring Pricing Workshops and Conference will also feature 18 sessions in three breakout tracks (Pricing Practitioners, Pricing Experts, Tools and Techniques) to train pricers at every level of proficiency in foundational pricing principles, the latest pricing strategies and research methods.
