The Wallawwa is ideal for one or two nights at either end of a journey in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka In Style welcomes The Wallawwa to its exclusive collection of boutique Sri Lanka hotels and villas. Situated just a short drive from the international airport, visitors can come to this beautifully renovated 18th century heritage hotel on their arrival to spend a few days recuperating before embarking on their island wide tour.
"Location, Location, Location!" says Miguel Cunat, CEO of Sri Lanka In Style. "The Wallawwa is ideal for one or two nights at either end of a journey in Sri Lanka." With exquisitely designed rooms offering indulgencies that far outweigh the traditional concept of a transit hotel and excellent Asian fusion cuisine, this hotel in Sri Lanka is also a top choice for weekend stopovers since it is only a short drive to the capital Colombo, the west coast beaches and is conveniently located just off the highways to Kandy, Dambulla, Anuradhapura and Sigiriya.
The Wallawwa is the oldest and most impressive manor house of its kind in the Negombo region. Its most famous residents were the family of Nicholas Dias-Abeysinghe, Maha Mudaliyar or Head Chieftain of Galle, before the Royal Air Force under Lord Mountbatten occupied it during the duration of the Second World War. The Wallawwa was built in the traditional Dutch warehouse design - wide pillared verandahs, thick walls and elevated ceilings - over 200 years ago and has recently been carefully renovated by the present owners to merge past nostalgias with cutting edge modern technology.
In the 14 exquisite rooms, four of which are suites, are huge Balinese four poster beds, widescreen satellite TVs, terrazzo walled shower rooms and private terraces that give guests every opportunity to fully relax and unwind. In-room dining also allows flight-weary guests arriving at this Sri Lankan hotel to eat at whatever time of the day they like, while Wi-Fi throughout the property means that business travelers have the freedom to conduct a day's business from any comfortable location of their choosing.
A delicious menu exposes the innovatory cuisine of The Wallawwa. Executive Chef Alex Stanich has worked in Asia for over seven years, including hotels in Sri Lanka, and is continually experimenting with Asian cuisine. His most recent invention at The Wallawwa has been of the cinnamon wood BBQ from which his team of chefs creates deliciously aromatic and delicately tasting dishes. Menus change daily and guests can choose to enjoy their meals from the convivial verandah or the secluded garden.
An expansive tropical garden stretches around the house and offers many private spots for contemplation. Canopied chairs provide shade from the hot sun, whilst a croquet lawn challenges anyone to a little competition. The swimming pool invitingly entices guests for a cool dip in the heat of the day while a Yoga Garden is peacefully located to one side of the spa.
For a hotel in Sri Lanka of this size, the Z Spa and Relaxation is very generously sized. In order to offer their flight weary guests a fast track to the very best relaxation techniques available, a large number of soothing treatments have been specially created with them in mind. Signature massages, traditional ayurvedic treatments and a unique array of health and beauty alternatives are administered by a team of highly experienced therapists.
For our Sri Lanka in Style business travelers, The Wallawwa has a fully equipped business centre offering state of the art connectivity, printing, scanning and surfing facilities.
