Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) November 05, 2012
Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota is proud to announce that the University is again ranked nationally in the 2013 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s annual publication, “America’s Best Colleges.”
U.S. News creates the rankings to give potential students the ability to quickly and easily compare colleges and universities according to widely accepted indicators of superior quality. The University was evaluated on criteria that include academic reputation and peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving.
Schools are first categorized by their mission, and then each criterion is assigned a weight that reflects the company’s judgment of how much it matters. Using the resulting composite scores, institutions in each category are ranked against each other.
This ranking adds to the list of the University’s other recognitions for 2013, including being named a “Best Midwestern College” by The Princeton Review in its prestigious annual survey.
For 100 years, Saint Mary’s has demonstrated its commitment to a high-quality, innovative and accessible higher education. Most recently that commitment has been illustrated through career-focused online master’s degree programs that make a Saint Mary’s education available to students around the country and the world, as well as on the go, thanks to the integration of the latest iPad technology into the online learning platform.
Students in the online Master of Science in Project Management learn how to successfully guide complex and large-scale projects from conceptualization through completion. Coursework closely mirrors the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge Guide, the gold standard of principles and best practices in this growing field.
The online Master of Arts in Human Resource Management takes a strategic view of the HR role, focusing on the challenges of identifying short- and long-term goals for organizations as well as leadership and management principles. The curriculum is aligned with the HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management.
The online Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership is organized into five semesters of themed classes that simulate the interconnected and complex nature of work today. Each semester builds on skills in leadership, critical and strategic thinking and managing conflict to empower students to effectively manage and inspire the workforce.
Saint Mary’s University offers students a true community whether they study on campus or online. Instructors with academic credentials and real-world experience teach small classes and work hard to help students succeed in the program and in life, while staff members offer an array of support services from application through graduation.
