Buy a Shirt. Make a Difference!
Miami, Florida (PRWEB) April 02, 2013
Custom clothing line, StampLabel, is excited to announce it will give 10% of its profit from every purchase on its website (http://www.StampLabel.com) in April to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The company is asking for your support by not only making a purchase on the website, but to also raise awareness for this life-threatening genetic disease. StampLabel has set a goal to raise $5,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and hopes that people everywhere will join them in making a difference.
According to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that causes mucus to build up and clog some of the organs in the body, particularly the lungs and pancreas. The mucus build up can make it difficult to breath, lead to lung damage, and make it very tough to break down food and receive the necessary nutrition to keep the body healthy. StampLabel’s Co-Chief Difference Maker, Jeremy Mathis states that, “this disease is not known to many, but affects individuals of all ages. This month, StampLabel‘s mission is to not only reach our goal of $5,000, but to also make people everywhere aware of this life-threatening disease. We want to provide hope to Cystic Fibrosis patients and let them know that there are people that care about the disease that challenges them daily.”
StampLabel has several activities planned throughout the month of April to bring hope to the patients and make others aware of the disease. The company will be active on their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts providing followers with information about Cystic Fibrosis and how they could make a difference. StampLabel will also be joining the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at a Great Strides walk on April 13, 2013 at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida. The Co-Chief Difference Makers have started a team (StampLabel Difference Makers) and will walk along side others to bring awareness to the disease. “Words cannot explain how excited we are to be working with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The Foundation has planned great events, which has our supporters excited as well. We have received great support from our Difference Makers team, whom have already made purchases which will help us reach our goal of $5,000” stated Jeremy.
In addition, StampLabel will be visiting Cystic Fibrosis patients on April 23, 2013 at the Miami Children’s Hospital. The company’s mission for this visit is to encourage and inspire the patients and allow them to express themselves through fashion by customizing their own apparel on StampLabel’s website. Help StampLabel “Add Tomorrows” for those affected by this disease.
About Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that:
- clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; and
- obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.
In the 1950s, few children with Cystic Fibrosis lived to attend elementary school. Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended life for children and adults with CF. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond.
About the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Since 1955, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been the driving force behind the pursuit of a cure. The Foundation is the world’s leader in the search for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). They fund more CF research than any other organization, and nearly every CF drug available today was made possible because of the Foundation’s support.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is a nonprofit donor-supported organization dedicated to attacking cystic fibrosis from every angle. Their focus is to support the development of new drugs to fight the disease, improve the quality of life for those with CF, and ultimately to find a cure.
The Foundation's drug development model has been recognized by Harvard Business School and by publications such as Forbes, The New Yorker, and Bloomberg Businessweek. Based in Bethesda, Maryland, the Foundation funds and accredits a national care center network that has been recognized by the National Institutes of Health as a model of care for a chronic disease.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is one of the most efficient organizations of its kind and is an accredited charity of the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance. To find out more about the Foundation, visit their website at http://www.cff.org/.
