The new app makes it easy to find, read, save and share news and photos... post comments, share on Facebook and browse unique photo galleries.
Washington, DC (PRWEB) March 26, 2013
In keeping with its long-standing mission to serve U.S. military members with independent news wherever they are stationed, Stars and Stripes now offers subscriptions to a unique edition for the Apple® iPad® tablet, featuring reports on military matters by award-winning journalists as well as compelling photo and video galleries.
“The new Tablet Edition is the ideal bridge between our print editions and website. It’s a medium that you can sit down with to enjoy lengthier reads that can’t quite fit in print, while getting a long-view perspective on the ever changing news stream we publish on the web,” said Sam Laney, Tablet Edition editor.
“Tablet subscribers are also the first to read our exclusive in-depth military reporting,” Laney added.
"We developed the Stars and Stripes Tablet Edition app with a focus on delivering the news our readers want, with a design that is easy to use," said Drew Schneider, interactive media director.
"The new app makes it easy to find, read, save and share news and photos. Subscribers are also able to read offline, post comments, share on Facebook and browse unique photo galleries, available exclusively for the Tablet Edition,” he said.
The Stars and Stripes Tablet Edition app is free to download from the App Store. Subscriptions are available on a monthly basis. A special introductory rate offers up to four months' subscription for the price of a single month from now until June 15.
The app requires an Apple iPad running iOS 6 or higher (the app will not run on the first generation iPad).
