Through our continued partnership, e-academy gives students and faculty access to deeply discounted academic offerings of Minitab products.
Ottawa (Vocus) May 19, 2010
e-academy Inc. is proud to announce today the availability of Minitab® 16 Statistical Software on its OnTheHub Global eStore. As with previous versions, qualified academic buyers will be eligible to order this leading statistical software tool at an exclusive reduced price (as low as $29.99 USD for a 6-month rental).
Students and educators have the option of either purchasing or renting Minitab 16 through the OnTheHub eStore. The rental option allows students to lease software for a fixed period of time, typically the length of a university course. This option was added to provide additional discounts to students and has since met with great popularity.
Minitab 16 offers new functionality and features. The most prominent is the Assistant, a menu-based tool designed to guide users through their analyses and help them interpret their results with confidence.
Other enhancements in Minitab 16 include:
- Nonlinear Regression
- Split-Plot Designs
- More Power and Sample Size Tools
- Tolerance Intervals
- New Reporting Features
- New Tutorials and Datasets
“Minitab lets you focus on improving your business because it’s so easy to use,” says Michelle Paret, product marketing manager for Minitab. “That’s why it's also the most popular choice for teaching statistics in universities and even high schools.”
Ken Farquhar (Manager, Global eStore) said: “Through our continued partnership, e-academy gives students and faculty access to deeply discounted academic offerings of Minitab products. The immediate availability of Minitab 16 and of Quality Companion 3 by Minitab on our eStore reflects the continued growth of our partnership with Minitab.”
Students who wish to purchase Minitab 16 will be able to do so by downloading it direct from the OnTheHub eStore. There also is a CD mail order option for North American end users. e-academy's online fulfillment system has academic eligibility rules built in allowing it to authenticate members of the academic community prior to enabling an online purchase.
e-academy's secure encryption process protects software publishers against piracy while allowing students 24-hour access to the software they need. Once installed, all features of the software will be available throughout the license period. Purchase includes an option to renew the software license upon expiration.
Since its inception, e-academy has designed solutions that allow institutions of higher education to reduce costs and concentrate on their core mission, higher learning. In fact, e-academy pioneered software rental agreements back in 2001. Software vendors gain volume, while building long-term relationship with students, universities get to free up lab time and simplify license management requirements, and students can learn on the latest software titles at prices that effectively deter piracy.
