SelfLube the leading U.S. manufacturer of mold and die components, is pleased to announce a steel version of its already popular line of aluminum bronze wear strips.

This new expanded line will include a choice of material (aluminum bronze or steel), a choice of mounting holes (with or without) and a choice of lubrication (graphite, grease grooves or plain). These will come in a broad range of standard sizes. For applications where standard sizes will not work, the company also has the ability to make customer configurations (special sizes, special hole patterns, cut outs, custom shapes, etc). The company can accommodate almost any conceivable variation.

"Our goal", says Owner Phil Allor, "is to deliver a component to our customer that is complete and ready to bolt into the tool, not ready for more work to be performed on it." This has the potential for saving SelfLube customers a great deal of time and money.

There is a great push for standardization in the tooling business. "It's not hard to see why," Allor goes on. "Shops that can successfully do this will then be able to re-deploy resources from low margin activity (making components) into a much higher margin activity - building tools, thereby making the company more profitable with essentially the same resources. But, to do this you need a very reliable supplier and one with the capabilities to make a very broad range of components." Allor is determined to have SelfLube be that reliable supplier.

SelfLube has been in business for over 22 years and is the leading US manufacturer of mold and die components. Serving mold, die and special machine shops throughout the US, Canada and now in Mexico. Its product line consists over 8,000 standard part numbers, many of which are self-lubricating and include bushings, gibs, parting line locks, lifter slides and many other related items.
