We are thrilled with the results and feel grateful for the jury recognizing Grange Insurance Company’s failure to live up to their contractual obligations by failing to pay our client’s no fault benefits.

Sterling Heights, MI (PRWEB) March 08, 2012

Sterling Heights attorneys of Boyer, Dawson & St. Pierre PLLC announced today that they have won a $1,000,000 verdict on behalf of their client in an unpaid no fault benefits case and future no fault benefits in excess of $9,000,000.00.

Boyer, Dawson & St. Pierre represented Beverly Duffy in Duffy v Grange Insurance Co. (Case Number 07-4968-NF). Grange Insurance Company failed to properly investigate and pay the claim when Plaintiff was injured on an ATV which resulted in spinal cord injuries. Grange argued that the accident did not occur on a public highway even though the State of Michigan paid for all road maintenance. After three and ½ years of litigation and appeals, the plaintiff was able to present her case to a jury, which awarded every benefit allowed for under the no fault law.

Attorney, William Boyer, Jr. stated, “We are thrilled with the results and feel grateful for the jury recognizing Grange Insurance Company’s failure to live up to their contractual obligations by failing to pay our client’s no fault benefits for which Grange Insurance Company has received insurance premiums from Beverly Duffy for many years.”

The trial began on August 9, 2011 and concluded on August 17. After hearing the evidence, the jurors deliberated for several hours before returning a verdict for Beverly Duffy, awarding over $1,000,000.00 for past damages and interest and in excess of $9,000,000.00 for future damages during Ms. Duffy’s lifetime. Judge Diane Druzinski presided over the trial in the Macomb County Circuit Court.
