Author Steve Shanley’s The Godarian Son has graced the London Book Fair. Out of the brilliant mind and strong belief of Shanley, The Godarian Son is an inspiring tale of compassion and destiny set against the backdrop of an ancient solar system with constantly warring planets. Targeted to readers of all faith and creed, Shanley’s book draws its inspiration from important Biblical characters, themes and events that carry remarkable lessons about the history of the world.
In his novel, Shanley takes readers to Godar, the largest and most dynamic planet in an ancient solar system. Although other smaller planets fear Godar because of its great power, they are constantly warring against each other—much to the annoyance of the peaceful people of Godar.
Jess, the young son of the ruler of Godar, could not stand the wars that where ravaging his home worlds. He asks his father, King Lor, if there was anything they could do to put an end to the fighting. Apparently, King Lor believes that for as long as the lesser planets fear each other, it would take a miracle to end all wars.
Burdened by all the sufferings of all the women and children, Jess decides to find that one miracle which can end all wars. He gathers his most trusted companions and embarks on a quest to bring peace to the planets of Chinara, Sovia, Affera, Oropa, and Asha. They are off to find a new world and prove all the doubters wrong.
With obviously familiar names of characters and places, The Godarian Son will not only be intriguing but also be endearing to readers. It is more than simply a creative retelling of an old Christian story. It is a powerful emissary to both Christians and non-Christians alike delivering universal truths and values.
