Stride Rite Offers Consumer Stimulus Plan, Rolls Back Prices to 1999 Levels

Stride Rite is looking to help consumers who continue to struggle to make ends meet during this tough economy by rolling back prices on its website to 1999 levels for the first 1,999 customers through the end of April.

"We know that many of our customers are watching their wallets, and purchasing new shoes for their children may not be a top priority as they struggle to make ends meet," said Alex Curavo, marketing manager for Stride Rite of Toledo. "Children's feet are still developing and it is important for them to have shoes that fit. Shoes that are too big or too small can lead to many foot and lower back problems later in life. A child's foot can grow a half size every two to three months, so it is important to have your child's feet checked often. If your child frequently cries or fights you when you try to put on their shoes, it may be a sign that they are getting too small."

In an effort to make new shoes more affordable, Stride Rite of Toledo is offering the Rollback to 1999 Sale, allowing consumers nationwide to pay for their child's shoes in 1999 dollars. To receive the Rollback to 1999 price, customers just need to enter promotion code "1999" during checkout. The promotion is available exclusively online at, and is limited to the first 1,999 customers through April 30, 2009.
