Representatives from seven states and Germany have registered to attend Strive’s Discovery Workshop Tuesday at the offices of the United Way of Greater Cincinnati.
The workshop will help participants explore what it takes to become a Cradle-to-Career community. They will learn from the key players of the Strive Partnership in Cincinnati on how to build and sustain the civic infrastructure necessary to support every child, from cradle to career.
“There is a lot of interest nationally in the collective work of our partners here locally,” Jeff Edmondson, Managing Director of Strive Network, which is working with communities throughot the country to help replicate the success of Strive in Greater Cincinnati, Covington and Newport, Ky. “The Discovery Workshop is an opportunity for interested communities to come and learn first-hand from the local partners who have led the work of the partnership and are at the heart of its continued progress.”
The content for the discovery workshop is organized around the four pillars of the Strive Cradle to Career Framework: shared community vision, engaged leadership, accountability structure and evidence-based decision making. When participants complete the workshop, they will know how to apply those ideas and start building a Cradle to Career Partnership in their own communities.
Partner representatives from The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, Gateways Community and Technical College, Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati Public Schools, the University of Cincinnati, the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Social Innovation Fund, JP Morgan Chase, and the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr./US Bank Foundation will be attending the workshop to share their knowledge and experiences.

Since its inception in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky in 2006, communities in more than 20 states and the District of Columbia have demonstrated interest in replicating Strive’s Cradle-to-Career sustained-improvement approach. Currently, the Strive Network has contracts in Houston; East Bay, Calif; Portland; Richmond, Va; Santa Barbara, Calif. Detroit, Quad Cities, Iowa; and Adams County, Colo.
Strive is catalyzing a national movement focused on the success of every child from cradle to career.
