Company's new Web Widget provides PKI-level security without cookies, tokens, certificates or cumbersome toolbars

This is a major breakthrough because it creates strong, bi-directional authentication between a user and a Web site in a very friendly and engaging fashion

GlobalCrypto, the leader in low-cost strong authentication and the only company to make transacting online safer by using digital images to transmit cryptographic information between a user and a Web application, today announced its RealMe software is now available as a Flash Web Widget.

RealMe strong authentication software enables a user to upload a photo of their choice and have that picture embedded with cryptographic information unique to the user and Web site. RealMe then separates the picture and exchanges half of the image between the user and the Web site. No transaction or login can take place until the user unlocks the encrypted image with his or her password and the two halves of the image match.

"This is a major breakthrough because it creates strong, bi-directional authentication between a user and a Web site in a very friendly and engaging fashion," stated Todd Merrill, GlobalCrypto's Founder and Chief Executive Officer. "In fact, many users stated during usability testing that it was so easy to use, they couldn't believe RealMe is so secure." "Until now, consumers have associated security with complexity," added Merrill.

By enabling RealMe strong authentication software as a Flash Web Widget on a user's PC, consumers no longer have to remember where they saved their encrypted image and retrieve that image each time they login to a Web site. It is now stored as a shared Flash object and presented automatically every time a user logs in to a RealMe protected Web site. Depending on the level of security desired, the new Web Widget can be node-locked to a single computer or the image can be exported so the user can login from other computers.

Now all a user has to do is click on the Web site's login link, type in their password to unlock the encrypted data in the picture and, if the two halves of the encrypted information match, they have been authenticated and can proceed with their transaction.

The new Flash Web Widget is featured as a demo on the GlobalCrypto Web site.

GlobalCrypto won the gold medal in the Atlanta Technology Development Center's 2007 CapVenture contest and was recently named by the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) as one of the 16 most innovative companies in the state.
