“In the two years since the Stryker hip recall was announced, our Firm has heard from numerous individuals who were allegedly harmed by Rejuvenate and ABG II hips. Even now, we continue to receive such inquiries. Given how many of these products were implanted, it is not surprisingthat the litigation continues to grow,” says Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing the victims of defective drugs and medical devices. The Firm continues to offer free legal evaluations to individuals were allegedly harmed by Stryker’s Rejuvenate and ABG II Modular-Neck Hip Stems.
Stryker Hip Recall
According to court documents, the Stryker hip recall was announced in July 2012 after Rejuvenate and ABG II hip stems were found to be vulnerable to high rates of fretting and corrosion at the modular-neck junction. All of the claims pending in the state and federal litigations allege that the metal hip components caused recipients to suffer osteolysis, tissue necrosis, metallosis, and other complications that often required revision surgery to remove and replace the device.
Court records indicate that an Early Mediation Program has been established in the Stryker hip recall litigation underway in Bergen County Superior Court, where Bernstein Liebhard LLP is actively filing claims. In June, the Court noted that of 18 cases mediated during Phases I and II of the Program, 17 have been settled. The Court is now preparing to begin Phase III of its mediation efforts.
Individuals who were allegedly harmed by Rejuvenate and ABG II hip stems may be eligible to file their own Stryker hip lawsuit. To learn more about the Stryker hip recall, please visit Bernstein Liebhard LLP’s website, or call 800-511-5092 to arrange for a free, no-obligation case review.
