Twenty-three different touring groups from throughout America will be among the million spectators expected to witness history when Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th President of the United States on January 20, 2009.

Those attending the event mirror the diversity prevalent throughout America:

  • Middle and high school government and social studies classes from the Midwest
  • Upward Bound groups from Alabama, Connecticut, Ohio and Michigan
  • Private academies and special travel groups from Montana, South Carolina and Texas.
These travelers will begin their special "Inauguration Tour" with visits to some of the most important area attractions - The Monuments and Memorials, the National Cathedral, the Smithsonian Museums, and Arlington National Cemetery. On Tuesday, January 20th they will view the parade and swearing in ceremony and then conclude this historic day with a cruise down the Potomac River, dancing at their very own "Inaugural Ball."

John Krish, Vice President and General Manager noted, "Travel Adventures recognizes the importance of educational travel in the lives of young people. We believe that bringing the classroom alive with first-hand, interactive experiences such as this will motivate students to achieve greatness in their academic endeavors."
