In response to President Obama's recent promise to send 100,000 American students to China, Study International Corp., announces a new initiative to provide students with an opportunity to earn a quality university degree at a fraction of the cost of a comparable U.S. university. The total cost for students participating in Study International's program is $12,750 per year and includes tuition, room and board, support services and roundtrip airfare for two trips per year.

The Confucius Institute will provide language and culture education, which is certified by the Chinese Ministry of Education. The Confucius Institute has more than 80 locations throughout the U.S. A reception introducing the program will be held at the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in New York City on March 24, 2010 at 6:00 p.m.

The venture is spearheaded by Lester Wolff, a former U.S. Congressman who chaired the Asian Affairs Committee and was instrumental in normalizing relationships between the U.S. and China.

Richard Popovic, President of Study International and Dr. Yuefan Deng, Chief Education Consultant of the company, see this program as providing not only an opportunity for American students to get a top-quality education at an affordable cost, but also as a chance to learn the culture and language of the world’s fastest growing economy. Students will gain valuable global perspective for their job prospects or to further graduate studies back in the U.S. In addition, this program provides a means to help meet President Obama's commitment to send 100,000 American students to study in China.

"It is with a great deal of excitement that we launch Study International, offering American students a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel and learn in China at one of their great universities," explains Richard Popovic. "By offering a college education for a fraction of the price, we make fulfilling the dream to go to college possible for many who just can’t afford it. President Obama made a promise that we plan to help fulfill," he added.

It is anticipated that the first group of students will be sent to the prestigious Nankai University to attend its fall 2010 classes.
