Summit Data Communications , the leading provider of industrial-strength embedded Wi-Fi® solutions, today announced its Industrial Wi-Fi Webinar Series. Aimed at those who make, sell, and use mobile computers and other business-critical mobile devices, the series covers hot topics such as Wi-Fi security, 802.11n in industrial environments, and Cisco Compatible Extensions (CCX).
"Firms in retail, manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, and other vertical markets run mission-critical applications on rugged mobile devices,” said Chris Bolinger, Summit's VP of Sales and Marketing. "These devices depend on Wi-Fi for secure and reliable network connections, even when the devices are on the move in challenging environments. Our webinar series will demystify complex Wi-Fi topics and provide best practices for optimal Wi-Fi operation.”
Webinars will be held every other Tuesday, beginning on April 20. The series will kick off with a discussion of how to optimize Wi-Fi operation in the 5 GHz frequency band. Subsequent webinars will explore how to provide Wi-Fi client device security that is sufficient for the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), what benefits 802.11n provides in an industrial environment, the value of CCX for mobile computers, and other topics.
To make the webinars accessible to participants around the world, Summit will offer each webinar twice. The first session will be held at 9 a.m. in Japan and Korea, which is 8 a.m. in Taiwan and Singapore. The second session will be held at 11 a.m. U.S. Eastern Time, which is 5 p.m. in Central Europe. All webinars will be free, and participants will be able to ask questions electronically throughout each session.
