It is inspiring and rewarding to be able to help lead others in following Jesus and teaching the Bible in a practical, uncompromising way.
Temecula, Ca (PRWEB) November 14, 2014
Sunridge Community Church announced the hiring of Britt Sipe as its new lead pastor. Britt is a long-time attender of Sunridge Community Church, having been a part of the church for more than 22 years. In that time, he has served as a member of the elder board, a teaching pastor and as the interim pastor from November 2009 to September 2010. He has also spent 26 years in the San Bernardino County Fire Department, from which he will be retiring to take his new position at Sunridge.
Although well-known and respected throughout the church, Britt was required to follow the same process as other pastoral candidates, which included a detailed 20-page application and several stages of interview. Once selected by the pastoral search committee, Britt’s candidacy was presented to the church body. With an overwhelming 97% majority, Britt was approved by the congregation.
During the time prior to Britt’s hiring, Sunridge Community Church employed the services of Church Resource Ministries’ (CRM) reTurn team to help lead the church in the transition period by providing training, structure, and an intentional interim pastor. The church also assembled an internal transition team to prepare the church for a new pastor, and a pastoral search team to facilitate the application process and vet potential candidates.
“I can’t think of a single person I’d rather have leading our church,” said Bob Santy, Sunridge’s Pastor of Business and Finance and former Elder Board Member. “We are excited as a church to welcome Britt as our lead pastor. He comes to us with a great deal of experience in teaching, as well as in leadership.”
Of his new role as lead pastor, Britt said, “It is inspiring and rewarding to be able to help lead others in following Jesus and teaching the Bible in a practical, uncompromising way. I feel really fortunate to be a part of the team at Sunridge and am thrilled to join this great church in our next new adventure!"
