These teams have already given us one of the greatest Super Bowls ever back in 2008 and now the Patriots will be looking for payback. Meanwhile the Giants just keep finding ways to win.

In a rematch of one of the most exciting Super Bowls ever, Super Bowl XLVI will feature the New England Patriots vs. New York Giants on February 5, 2012 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. These teams met in Super Bowl XLII with the Giants dealing the Patriots their only loss of the season, 17-14. NFL playoffs this season have been thrilling and full of surprises in the NFC and equally thrilling but with somewhat more expected results in the AFC. The exciting matchup between the Patriots and Giants this year has Super Bowl tickets in high demand according to New Jersey Ticket Broker Select-A-Ticket.

While most pundits and fans were not shocked to have seen the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens reach the AFC Championship game, very few if any would have predicted the San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants reaching the NFC Championship game.

Entering the playoffs, the NFC teams considered most likely to advance were the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers due to their high-powered offenses. Despite San Francisco’s strong record, they were not expected to beat the Saints. However, that is exactly what they did.

San Francisco defeated the Saints in a thrilling divisional playoff game which saw the lead change hands four times in the final five minutes of play. In the other NFC Divisional game the New York Giants traveled to Green Bay and a combination of advantageous turnovers and some big offensive plays allowed them to advance to the NFC Championship game, New York’s highlight play being a Hail Mary touchdown to end the first half and extend their lead to ten points entering halftime.

In the AFC Divisional round, the New England Patriots overpowered the upstart Denver Broncos despite the efforts of quarterback Tim Tebow who led his Broncos to a shocking upset of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wildcard game. Baltimore Ravens football has always been about a fierce defense and that is what powered their drive to the conference championship game along with timely scoring from their offense. The Patriots then defeated Baltimore by a score of 23-20 in the AFC Championship game to advance to the Super Bowl.

"It is big every year but everyone is excited about this Super Bowl in particular. These teams have already given us one of the greatest Super Bowls ever back in 2008 and now the Patriots will be looking for payback. Meanwhile the Giants just keep finding ways to win, this is a great matchup. The teams have history, there’s the whole New York vs. Boston rivalry, and it all comes together in the biggest game of them all," says Tom Patania, President and CEO at Select-A-Ticket.
