Surveillance Video has introduced the Nuvico EL series of all-in-one LCD Digital Recorders to consumers. This unique system features a fully functional digital video recorder and a viewing monitor in a space saving combination. Available with four or eight video inputs, the 19 inch TFT LCD Monitor/DVR features protective glass, an embedded Linux operating system, and a built-in multiplexer. Its quadruplex functioning allows for simultaneous recording, playback, backup and networking. It utilizes the MPEG-4 recording compression method and features a recording rate of 120pps at 320 x 240. It even comes with an IR remote control and built-in speakers. Its on-screen graphic menu makes programming the DVR a snap. Users can adjust the brightness, contrast, and color for each channel.
A further feature is the web based live viewer, which makes remote viewing from anywhere in the world possible. This is possible because of a dynamic DNS service, which is included with the EL series. DDNS automates the recognition and registration of a user's IP address. The El series monitor/DVR will connect to the user's service provider's system and link it to the public IP addresses in the user's home network. This results in a fixed address for the EL unit. Without the DDNS feature, there would be no stable IP address to connect to for a user who is travelling and wants to check his or her home or business remotely.
