There’s lots of talk about solving the problems of youth unemployment, but our “30 Jobs. One Weekend” event is just the start of what will become SWAs long-term plan to get young people into apprenticeships on a monthly basis.
Leicester (PRWEB UK) 30 January 2013
With turbulent economic times, a plethora of high street retail chain closures and record numbers of young people out of work across Great Britain, a company who is tackling the issues and announcing sustainable job creation is an exciting opportunity for the local economy and the young people of Leicester.
Steve Walker, founder and Managing Director of the SWA business says; “There’s lots of talk about solving the problems of youth unemployment, but our “30 Jobs. One Weekend” event is just the start of what will become SWAs long-term plan to get young people into apprenticeships on a monthly basis. We are hugely excited about the event on the 2nd and 3rd February, it might not be as glamorous as auditioning for the X-factor, but we’re hoping that Leicester’s 16 to 24 years olds, looking for work will show up in force throughout the day on the 2nd and 3rd February for an interview. We have 30 apprenticeships available, and those successful candidates will be given a job on the day and join the SWA team in sales and/or business administration roles starting a job the following week. Within 12 months these young apprentices will have a level 2 qualification and more importantly real life hands on job experience, making them a valuable resource for businesses. We’d like to encourage all forward thinking local and national employers and entrepreneurs to join us in pledging to take on apprentices throughout 2013 and beyond.”
SWA founded in October 2004 was built on the vision of providing high quality and innovative people development solutions to all levels of employees across any organisation and more recently the recruitment and development of apprentices. With head offices in Leicestershire and London, SWA is a national organisation whose expertise lies in providing bespoke training, management consultancy, apprenticeship placements and workplace qualifications to PLCs, private companies and NGOs.
