We hope our contributions to this program keep green industry talent here in Colorado.
Denver, CO (PRWEB) April 11, 2012
Swingle Lawn, Tree & Landscape Care, a member of the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET), the nation’s lawn and landscape association, has recently committed $25,000 to the PLANET Academic Excellence Foundation (PLANET AEF) making it the newest PLANET AEF Ambassador company.
Each year, PLANET AEF awards scholarships to students who are enrolled in landscape contracting and horticulture programs at two-year and four-year colleges and universities across the nation.
The Swingle / Tom Tolkacz Family Scholarship for 2012 was awarded to Ryan James Larscheid, a senior majoring in Environmental Horticulture at Colorado State University. Ryan has done extensive volunteer work in the community and at CSU and, upon graduation, hopes to be a leader in the Colorado Green Industry. He was described in his scholarship application packet as being a “hard worker: committed, smart, and respectful.” Ryan’s GPA is 3.88. The individual scholarship awarded this year to Ryan was $1,000.00.
“Nurturing potential in our industry is a rising tide that lifts all boats,” said Tom Tolkacz, CEO of Swingle, “and we hope our contributions to this program keep green industry talent here in Colorado. Our relationship with Fort Collins and northern Colorado is very important so we’re especially excited that a CSU student is on our scholarship.”
