It is our continued honor and pleasure to help support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. With each LLS event, the TalkPoint team hopes that more awareness and support is brought to blood cancer research and education.
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 28, 2011
TalkPoint, the industry leader in global communications technology, specializing in browser-based audio and video webcasting, will participate in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light the Night Walk on Wednesday, October 5 to benefit the New York City Chapter.
Team TalkPoint will join more than 11,000 people to walk the three-mile stretch across the Brooklyn Bridge to recognize those who are battling blood cancer and support cancer treatment research. The walk begins at 7:00 p.m., but there will be a remembrance ceremony beginning at 6:15 p.m. to honor those who lost their fight with cancer.
This is the third LLS event that TalkPoint has participated in this year. On May 31, TalkPoint’s CEO, Nick Balletta, was a member of LLS’s Team in Training for the St. Anthony’s Triathlon in St. Petersburg, FL. Nick continued his Team in Training involvement as part of a relay team, with TalkPoint colleagues Dan Roche and Travis Codde, for the Nautica New York City triathlon on August 7.
“With the support of Friend & Family and Corporate teams, like TalkPoint, we hope to raise $3.3 million through our Light The Night Walks in New York City,” commented Michele Przypyszny, Executive Director of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) New York City Chapter. “These funds will help advance LLS’s mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.”
