Vijay's new film to be titled Thalaiva

The movie had started filming in December but without a title. It took the team almost two months to come up with a name.

Even though the filming has been started, Tamil actor Vijay's upcoming romantic-thriller finally has a title. It is called ‘Thalaiva’ and its tag line reads "Time to Lead".

"Vijay's new Tamil film has been titled Thalaiva. Director A.L Vijay, Vijay and the producer have unanimously zeroed in on the title," said a statement from the production house.

The first leg of shooting was completed recently. The second schedule will start March onwards in Spain. "The cast and crew will travel to Spain after 50 days of non-stop shooting in Mumbai, two songs and three fight sequences have already been filmed," according to the statement.

Amala Paul is paired opposite Vijay in the film, which started shooting December 2012. It also stars Sathyaraj, Santhanam, Suresh, Mano Bala and Abhimanyu in important roles. The title song Thalaivaa Thalaivaa was recently shot in Mumbai in the presence of 500 junior artists. Chandra Prakash Jain is producing the film, which is likely to hit theatres in May. It has music by G.V Prakash Kumar, cinematography Nirav Shah and editing by Anthony.

Lately Vijay’s movies have been doing well yielding an average of 1 billion rupees in collection, he has moved into an upper echelon of Tamil Actors.

In ‘Thalaiva’, Vijay along with the producer are trying to incorporate some Hollywood flair. Efforts are in progress to covet international superstar Jackie Chan and wrestling champion John Cena. Also, efforts are in place to contact Angeline Jolie, her partner Brad Pitt, Megan Fox, and singer Shakira. The producers feel that this will give them an international appeal and will be good exposure for the Tamil Film industry.

If this dream is somehow realized, Vijay will enjoy another massive hit and the Tamil Film industry will also benefit. The fact is that, there is much pressure for Vijay to produce good films because his fans anticipate more all the time.
