While in Law School, Rich was often on the Dean's List and served as a teacher's assistant for a legal writing and research class. Mayberry was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 2006, and the Florida Bar in 2007. Rich was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2006. The two remained in touch and never veered too far away from their dream of going into private practice together someday.
Following graduation and after serving as Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Buddy D. Perry, senior circuit court judge of the 12th Judicial District of Tennessee, Jason Mayberry went to work for the 12th Judicial Circuit State Attorney's Office, quickly becoming one of the most effective Prosecutors in the Circuit. To date, Mayberry enjoys the designation as being one of the quickest hires into the private sector from the 12th Judicial Circuit State Attorney's Office. While working both for the State Attorney's Office and in private practice, Mayberry tried and won numerous jury trials, in addition to countless successful motion arguments.

Rich was responsible for handling cases ranging from simple traffic infractions to complex first degree felonies. In a recent jury trial Rich tried the case to verdict, in which the jury deliberated only four minutes before returning a not guilty verdict. Throughout his career at the Public Defenders office and while in private practice Rich has earned a reputation as a trial attorney who zealously fights for his clients' rights, and is not afraid to go to trial.
"One of many things I will never forget in my tutelage under Judge Perry is him saying to me, "Jason, there is a right way, and a wrong way to practice law." Those words ring in my ears everytime I undertake a matter for a client. Jeff is someone who does things the right way, and someone I have a whole hearted trust in. Being able to open an office with one of your best friends, in an area you love is a dream come true for both of us. Though we are different in many ways, our differences compliment each other, to each and every one of our clients' benefit. When deciding where to open our doors, Tampa was a no brainer. We both love the area and the people and look forward to representing our clients to the best of our ability."
