“Tamr’s elegant blend of machine learning and human guidance gives customers a scalable, efficient way to prepare data for today’s analytics and applications.”

Tamr, Inc., which provides a data unification platform that helps organizations harness Big Data Variety, today announced that it has been selected as the 2014 Ventana Research Technology Innovation award winner in the Overall Information Technology Innovation category.

The largest business and technology awards program in the country, Ventana Research's Technology Innovation Awards annually identify those technologies that have had or have the potential to have the most striking positive impact on business. The awards thus recognize pioneering vendors that contribute advancements in technology that drive change and increase value for organizations worldwide.

Tamr’s data unification platform dramatically reduces the time and effort of connecting and enriching multiple data sources to achieve a unified view of siloed enterprise data. Using Tamr, organizations are able to complete data unification projects in days and weeks versus months or quarters, so they can use all of the data at their disposal instead of the 10 percent to 12 percent that’s common today.

“Tamr provides the opportunity to turn Big Data into a business asset,” said Mark Smith, CEO and chief research officer of Ventana Research. “Tamr’s elegant blend of machine learning and human guidance gives customers a scalable, efficient way to prepare data for today’s analytics and applications.”

“We’re truly honored to be recognized by Ventana Research for our innovation and its power to help customers significantly improve the way they run their businesses,” said Andy Palmer, Tamr co-founder and CEO. “Ventana Research’s exacting and careful evaluation of the technologies it chooses to honor performs a real service for customers seeking non-incremental ways to differentiate themselves through technology.”

Tamr will receive its award during the Technology Innovation Awards Ceremony at The 2014 Ventana Research Summit, on Oct. 21, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in Burlingame, California.
