Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, with the assistance of Academic Partnerships, offers two online degree programs for nursing and business professionals this fall – the Master of Science in Nursing and the Master of Business Administration.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will offer two online degree programs for nursing and business professionals this fall – the Master of Science in Nursing Education and the Master of Business Administration.

The implementation of these online graduate degree programs, with the assistance of Academic Partnerships, demonstrates Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s commitment to meeting the needs of working professionals in the Corpus Christi area and beyond by extending the university’s reach with online programs. The application deadline for both programs is Friday, Sept. 21, for the session beginning on Monday, Oct. 15.

“At the Island University, we understand the importance of providing a quality, flexible education, especially for those juggling work and families,” said University President Flavius Killebrew. “Through our online classes, we are able to help students achieve a wealth of knowledge by offering classes that can be taken anywhere and anytime.”

The MSN degree provides flexible options for nurses seeking career advancement as clinical nurse educators and nursing faculty. The MSN degree, which has 37 credit hours, can be completed in 24 months.

“Through our online programs we are able to equip students, who might otherwise be unable to pursue a degree, with the skills necessary to achieve long-term success in a nursing career,” said Dr. Mary Jane Hamilton, dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The Island University’s MBA degree program is designed for business professionals who want to advance their careers and need flexibility to accommodate work schedules or personal commitments. The online MBA degree program consists of 30-credit hours and can be completed in 12 months for individuals who hold degrees in business.

“In today’s competitive global economy, a high-quality graduate education is imperative, even for those who already have a successful career,” said Dr. Moustafa Abdelsamad, dean of the College of Business. “What sets our program apart is the highly-regarded AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation, which puts our students at the front of the line when they apply for a job.”

Online degree programs are the most rapidly developing trend in higher education. Through the public-private partnership, Dallas-based Academic Partnerships provides market research and analysis, curriculum conversion, faculty support services, marketing and information technology for selected online degree programs at A&M-Corpus Christi. This allows the Island University to increase access to higher education for communities across the state.
