Ever wonder what to do with that old box of cassette tapes collecting dust? A new product hitting the shelves this summer, called Tape2MP3, converts old cassette tapes to MP3 files. People with an old cassette tape collection can now embarrass themselves all over again by hearing those old time so-called favorites, prank call tapes from the 80s, boring lectures, not to mention those language lessons that were never completed.
Tape2MP3 may look like a regular cassette player, but with one important difference, a nifty USB port that connects directly to a computer. Lead Engineer Xia-Phu Wang states, “This is Windows and Mac compatible product designed with simplicity in mind, after install the software, plug and hit play. Then you save as MP3 format so you can enjoy listen MP3 with your portable music player or computer. It’s very simple indeed.”
He further states that no other product on the market exists and other similar items are difficult to use. He says, “Our team spent 8 months in development and the past 2 months our factory has been at maximum output in pre-orders. Even before our official announcement to the press was made, demand has been much higher than expected, particularly in Europe and USA.”
Tape2MP3 is now available at many online resellers. Shipping started early April, Wang continued, “and we even expect orders from http://www.newegg.com in USA and http://www.ebuyer.co.uk and http://www.overclockers.co.uk in Europe.
