Tate & Lyle Joins the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation's Board of Directors

Joining the Board of Directors of The Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation provides a great opportunity for Tate & Lyle to become more actively involved in the movement to reduce childhood obesity by 2015

Tate & Lyle, a world-leading producer of food ingredients and solutions, today announced the appointment of Karl Kramer, President, Innovation and Commercial Development, to the Board of Directors of The Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation.

Kramer, formerly the President of Tate & Lyle’s SPLENDA® Sucralose Division, was voted to the Board by the leaders of some of the world’s most influential consumer products companies, including General Mills, Pepsico and Kraft Foods.

As part of its commitment to The Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation’s Board of Directors, Tate & Lyle will provide counsel to the Foundation regarding ingredient labeling, product formulations and marketing.

The Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation is a coalition of more than 100 food and beverage manufacturers and not-for-profit organizations. One of the Foundation’s key goals is to reduce childhood obesity.
