This should be an exciting year for all of us. We want to make a splash with Brass Monkey Racing and we feel like we have all the pieces in place to do that, from the driver to the team to the sponsors over at Tax Masters.
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) March 27, 2009
When Tony Rivera and the Brass Monkey Racing team won the first 2009 SPEED World Challenge GT race of the season, held in sunny central Florida at Sebring International Raceway, cheers could be heard as far away as California... Chula Vista, California to be exact.
Chula Vista is home to the Arco Olympic Training Center, where Resident Athletes and Junior Dream Team members train under legendary Olympic archery Coach Kisik Lee. And if you got a good look at the number 97 Tax Masters Porsche during the World Challenge race on Friday, you might have noticed the USA Archery logos on both rear panels of the bright orange car. So what's the connection?
TaxMasters, a tax representation firm located in Houston, Texas, agreed earlier this year to a one year sponsorship of USA Archery's Resident Athlete and Junior Dream Team programs at the Olympic training center in Chula Vista. As title sponsors of the number 97 orange Porsche fielded by Brass Monkey Racing, Tax Masters pledged to contribute an additional $5,000 to support USA Archery every time driver Tony Rivera reaches the podium in the World Challenge GT series this year.
When Rivera placed first in his debut race in the World Challenge GT series, Tax Masters was pleased to present the first of what they hope to be many more checks to USA Archery.
Patrick Cox, Tax Masters founder and President, said, "We have seen our 2009 contributions [to USA Archery] pay big dividends already in the results Coach Kisik Lee has achieved in competitions in Poland and Mexico. The Tax Masters podium pledge is our way of drawing attention to the tremendously successful program Coach Lee is running to develop Olympic hopefuls. We're pleased to be a part of that success and excited about the possibility of adding an additional five grand every time Tony reaches the podium."
Brass Monkey Racing is a newcomer to SPEED World Challenge GT, as is driver Tony Rivera. AJ Brass enlisted Jeff Stone of Kelly Moss Motorsports to form this new team effort and build the Tax Masters Porsches for the season. 2009 marks the 15th anniversary of the year Kelly-Moss drivers dominated World Challenge GT and went on to win the vaunted Porsche Cup.
Jeff Stone's words last week before the first race proved to be prophetic. "This should be an exciting year for all of us. We want to make a splash with Brass Monkey Racing and we feel like we have all the pieces in place to do that, from the driver to the team to the sponsors over at Tax Masters."
