Taylor Swift ticket prices for her two night stand at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha have dropped so much in recent weeks that Preferred Seating Tickets has been selling them for less than face value for the country music star. The 2013 Taylor Swift “Red” tour kicks off next Wednesday with Ed Sheeran opening up.

Fans who held out for a better deal for Taylor Swift ticket prices have been rewarded in Omaha where tickets on the secondary ticket market have plunged for either of two concerts at the CenturyLink Center next week. PreferredSeat.com has been selling Taylor Swift tickets starting as low as $63 for lower level seats for opening night on Wed. the 13th which is substantially below the cheapest $98 seats at Ticketmaster.

The concerts were so popular when they went on sale in December that multiple dates were added in many cities including Omaha where both Taylor Swift concerts sold out immediately. But many of the seats were bought up by fans and secondary ticket sellers who may have overestimated the number of potential buyers and now they’re paying the price by having to sell them for less than they paid.

The reason for the drop in ticket prices may have been either that the Taylor Swift tickets were priced too high on the secondary market to begin with or the extra competition for entertainment dollars from the other country artists including Jason Aldean coming to the CenturyLink Center in April and Carrie Underwood the following month.

“It’s simply a matter of supply and demand,” says Greg Cullen of Preferred Seating Tickets. “And this time it favored the fan that held out for a deal”.

The next tour stops for Taylor Swift on the schedule will be for two nights at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis on March 18-19 where ticket prices dropped but not quite the level at the CenturyLink Center. But there are plenty of seats remaining for that and many of the other cities with two-night stands so the trend may continue into the spring.

Preferred Seating Tickets is one of the leading concert ticket brokers in the country and guarantees all of their concert tickets 100%. Since 1987 fans have been able to buy concert, sports and theater tickets without any hidden service fees from one of the most respected companies in the secondary ticket market. Preferred Seating is not associated with any of the artists, venues or promoters for these events.
