Retro adventure and kids favorites make Saturdays special at Trinity Broadcasting Network and its exclusive kids channel, Smile of a Child. The popular faith and family networks have debuted a trio of Saturday series that are sure to bring back memories for grown-ups and make for some exciting and fun family viewing.
“Saturdays have always been special on TBN and SMILE TV, with cartoons, movies, and specials for the whole family,” said Brenda Rossman, program director for Smile of a Child. “This month we're pleased to add a timeless classic from TV's early days, along with a pair of kid-approved cartoon series.”
One of television's most enduring classics, Lassie has been entertaining viewers for more that fifty years. TBN and SMILE are airing episodes from the late 1950s that will spark memories for seasoned viewers while introducing younger generations to one of TV's most-loved animal characters. Lassie airs at 9 a.m. on TBN and 6:30 p.m. on Smile of a Child (Pacific Time).
Next, Bob the Tomato, Larry the Cucumber, and the rest of the Veggie Tales gang join the TBN and Smile of a Child lineup. Moms and dads who grew up with this zany crew of animated vegetables will be excited to introduce their children to the warm and wonderful Veggie Tales stories that make kids giggle while re-enforcing crucial life values. Veggie Tales airs at 11 a.m. on TBN and 10 a.m. on Smile of a Child.
Completing the new TBN and SMILE TV Saturday lineup is 321 Penguins, an interplanetary adventure featuring a duo of seven-year-old twins and their whacky space-traveling Penguin friends. Loaded with kid-style humor and lovable characters, this future cartoon classic is designed to entertain while imparting values parents want for their children. 321 Penguins airs at 11:30 a.m. on TBN and 1 p.m. on Smile of a Child.
“We're thrilled to bring these family-friendly shows to our viewers,” said TBN Vice President Matt Crouch. “Our mission has always been to offer a wide variety of programming that nurtures, inspires, educates, and entertains. That's what has made us the leader in faith and family television for the past 40 years, and it's what motivates us each and every day.”
