Hundreds of teachers will return to their classrooms this year armed with new knowledge, innovative lessons and fun learning projects to transform instruction and boost student achievement, while making extra income for their families thanks to Teachers Notebook and Teaching Blog Addict.

The first online Teaching Blog Expo, Blogging 101, kicks off at 11:00 am (EST), Saturday, September 17, 2011. No travel required; just an Internet connection, computer speakers or a phone line, a cup of coffee and the free web-conferencing player (WebEx).

Participants can attend any or all seven online presentations for just $29.95 and join lively, interactive Q&A discussions with blogging experts. Register by September 3rd and receive a $5.00 discount. The online Expo is limited to 1000 participants.

Those who register now and attend the live event can also download a free ‘virtual goodie bag giveaway’ filled with teaching treasures for all ages, a value of $100. Sessions will be recorded and archived, but will not include the interactive Q&A discussion among mentors and participants.

The Blogging 101 Expo is the brainchild of Steve and Debbie Esemplare, the creators of Teachers Notebook a venue to buy and sell authentic lessons and Tamara Chilver and Leslie S. of KindergartenWorks, the creators of Teaching Blog Addict, an international blogging community to improve and stimulate the classroom experience.

“Blogs are an effective way to publish original works of outstanding teachers,” said Debbie Esemplare, a NY elementary teacher. “The goal of our Expo is to save teachers countless hours of planning time by learning how to leverage lessons and ideas developed by peers on their own time.”

Novice and experienced bloggers can interact with experts who will teach them how to:

  •     use blogging basics
  •     make connections and market through social networks
  •     balance blogging with life, and …
  •     get paid for their passions and true creativity

“We are in awe of the authors who join Teaching Blog Addict,” said Tamara Chilver and Leslie S., Co-Founders. “These innovative educators inspire and motivate us. Try to imagine interacting and learning from teachers all over the world. We live far apart but share a deep passion for teaching excellence.”

“Traditionally, teachers have not been able to benefit from collaborating with their peers,” said Steve Esemplare. “Great teachers spend lots of time planning lessons and thinking of creative ways to engage students and deliver required curriculum. We serve as a conduit for like-minded educators to gather, inspire and share with each other all the challenges of designing effective classroom assignments each year.”

"This venue lets me share my passion and be more prepared for my students," said Annie Moffatt, the blog creator of The Moffatt Girls. “I am a better teacher and mom and proud of my work. I’m excited to teach again!”

"Blogging has enabled me to model good writing habits for my students,” said Erin Klein of Kleinspiration. “I can share and learn about new resources through our community so that my students can enjoy the best academic experience I can offer them."

“Teachers are done working in isolation,” summarizes Debbie Esemplare. “If our Expo can stimulate the teaching process, make learning fun and recognize the authentic good works of many superstar teachers, then we will have made an impact on education far greater than we ever dreamed possible.”
