Mike Taylor joins the Teakwood Capital team as the Managing Director for Talent. Hiring and retaining the right people is critical to the success of our portfolio companies. With his arrival, Teakwood's portfolio companies now have access to Mike Taylor's substantial expertise in executive search, coaching and mentoring.
Mike has over 30 years' experience in Executive search and coaching within the BPO, Technology, and Software (SaaS) sectors, with both public and private companies. A partial list of Mr. Taylor's past clients include Technology Crossover Ventures, Austin Ventures, and Battery Ventures in the private equity/venture capital realm as well as recognizable corporate names such as BMC Software, Solarc, Samsung, Freescale Semiconductor, SOURCECORP, and GENBAND.
Mike spent his last 3 years as a Search Partner at Cabot Consultants where he helped open the Dallas office for the Washington, D.C. based firm in early 2009. Prior to that, Mike was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles for 6 years where he was instrumental in developing the Private Equity/Venture Capital practice for both in its inaugural Austin office as well as in Dallas. Previously, he spent 15+ years in executive search as President of his own boutique search firm. His earlier corporate experience was in healthcare at McKesson as a Regional Vice President of Sales and a Director of Client Services. Previous roles included IT experience at EDS and engineering experience at Schlumberger.
Mr. Taylor is a native Texan who graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering. Mike resides in Dallas, Texas.
