Dr. Bauding is a tremendous asset to our facility and our patients. We are very pleased to have her.

Paradigm Malibu substance abuse treatment center spokesperson Steve Honig recently announced the addition of its newest faculty member, Dr. Lori M. Bauding, Psy.D., BC-DMT, Clinical Psychologist and dance movement therapist. Says Honig, "Dr. Bauding brings with her a unique set of credentials. She is an innovator in her field. She brought the first DMT programs to both the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital and Los Angeles Children’s Hospital through the Andrea Rizzo Foundation. We are excited to have someone with her unique talents among us."
As a popular lecturer at universities, high schools, parent’s groups and professional organizations, Dr. Bauding has appeared in multiple publications ranging from the American Journal of Dance Therapy to the Special Education Advisor. "The addition of a dance therapist to our team was a natural fit as we already feature a music and art therapist,” said Honig. “At Paradigm Malibu we have assembled a unique, world-class team of professionals who have devoted their careers to the treatment of young people and their families. Each is certified or licensed in their area of expertise," Honig said.
Honig explained how important physical activity is to recovering teens: "All teen participants in our drug abuse treatment program are given opportunities to participate in recreational therapy to strengthen their bodies while participating in fun, sober, physical activities. Paradigm recognizes that all adolescents come to us with different interests, physical abilities, and limitations. These differences are always treated with respect, and given full consideration. Our goal is to help young people find pleasure and purpose in constructive physical activities for the enhancement of physical and emotional health. The dance classes Dr. Bauding will be conducting for the teens will be a very effective tool."
Honig explained that Dr. Bauding is no stranger to teens and adolescent substance abuse treatment. As a participant in the global efforts of Volunteer Psychological Services, she has devoted her talents to the treatment of underserved populations in places ranging from Washington, DC to Australia, Ghana, Ecuador and Belize. In addition, she has extensive experience working with adolescents in psychiatric settings and has served as a psychologist in multiple private schools. Additionally, she has appeared as and expert on The Learning Channel, Dancing With the Stars and Dr. Drew.
“Dr. Bauding is a tremendous asset to our facility and our patients. We are very pleased to have her,” Honig said.
