Center for Discovery, a national leader in adolescent eating disorder treatment, has announced it will co-sponsor a training event entitled ‘Adolescent Eating Disorders 101: Psychological and Nutritional Complications.’ The training event will include a presentation on psychological complications by Rebecca Grover, LMFT, Program Director for Center for Discovery Bellevue and a presentation on nutritional complications with Janelle Fuchs, RD, CD, Lead Dietitian for The Emily Program.
Eating disorders in adolescents are complex disorders and can be challenging to treat. The Eating Disorders 101 training is designed to cover the basics of eating disorders in adolescents and how it affects them from a psychological and nutritional standpoint. Rebecca Grover, LMFT and Program Director for Center for Discovery Bellevue will be discussing the psychological complications associated with adolescent eating disorders including the development spectrum of adolescents and the cognitive, behavioral and psychological warning signs of eating disorders. Janelle Fuchs, RD, CD, Lead Dietitian for The Emily Program will discuss the nutritional complications associated with eating disorders. Presenters will also discuss ways to talk with adolescents and their families about the issues surrounding eating disorders and how to suggest further treatment.
