TelcoBridges’ New High-Performance TMG5800 and TMG7800 Media Gateways Help Service Providers Consolidate Equipment and Converge TDM and IP Networks

The Tmedia TMG5800 is aimed at service providers looking to consolidate equipment at the network core and simplify their production system management (OAM&P) activities. With support for up to 64 T1/E1/J1, 3 DS-3 or 1 STM-1 interfaces and the ability to run third party applications - such as softswitches and session border controllers locally - the carrier-grade TMG5800 enables consolidation of multiple signaling and connectivity devices into a 2U form factor, while providing up to 2,048 non-blocking voice ports.
The Tmedia TMG7800 is TelcoBridges’ highest capacity, highest-availability media gateway cluster. It supports up to 32,768 non-blocking ports through an interchangeable mix of E1/DS-3/STM-1 interfaces, and can scale to meet the needs of service providers managing global networks. Featuring multiple redundant high-performance hosts, the TMG7800 delivers core network services, such as media gateway, VoIP signaling, transcoding, tandem switching, advanced call routing, and fax relay.
The TMG7800 is an ideal solution for core switch replacement, designed to meet the needs of service providers converging TDM and IP networks, or consolidating multiple racks of devices for call control and media into a single system. It can host third-party applications such as softswitches or session border controllers, to further support consolidation and convergence efforts.
Featuring redundancy across all hardware and software elements, the new TMG5800 and the TMG7800 ensure maximum uptime and recovery in case of component failure. Both devices support multiple ‘any-to-any’ switching across multiple network interfaces and signaling protocols (SS7, ISDN, SIGTRAN, SIP and H.248) in a single system, and offer transcoding for all major wireline, wireless, and Internet codecs.
Complementing the Tmedia Product Family:
These two new high-end offerings expand TelcoBridges Tmedia line, complementing the Tmedia TMG800, which is TelcoBridges’ low-density (up to 8 T1/E1/J1 interfaces) offering, and the Tmedia TMG3200, which is the award-winning baseline edition (64 T1/E1/J1s, 3 DS-3, or 1 STM-1) in a low-power, 1U form factor.
Following in the footsteps of the TMG3200, these new high density products require significantly less power than competing products of similar capacity. Both the TMG5800 and the TMG7800 media gateways support the drive by service providers to reduce the environmental impact of their network footprint.
