“This device has the potential to help a lot of different people, from young children to senior citizens, and those with varying disabilities, to enhance their independence, safety and communication.”

Rehabmart.com, an online e-commerce company that sells rehabilitation and medical supplies, has joined into a distribution partnership with IntelliSolve, a division of The Vision Group, Incorporated, to offer their FotoDialer telephone assistive device to a larger consumer audience. Invented by the company's Chief Technical Officer, Son Le, to help his own mother with failing vision who does not speak, read or write English to better communicate with her family, the FotoDialer is the first multiple page image dial telephone device that allows the user to dial frequently used or important telephone numbers simply by touching a button next to a picture. Designed to meet the needs of the elderly, the vision impaired, the disabled, young children and anyone else who has trouble with using a regular telephone, this device helps people like Mrs. Le to not only keep in better touch with family and friends, but to also have the ability to use the phone in emergency situations.
The FotoDialer is very much like a photo album, with a set of six plastic pages, each accommodating four 2 x 3 inch pictures. Telephone numbers are programmed into the FotoDialer memory and can be turned to for the page desired. The user then picks up the telephone receiver and touches a button next to the picture, and the device immediately calls the number. The FotoDialer stores up to 24 pictures of friends and family and is also perfect to use for programming emergency contacts, such as 911. It connects to any analog or digital telephone on an analog (non-Voice Over IP) line and provides very large pictures and buttons to especially help those who are visually impaired. Besides being useful for the disabled, elderly and visually impaired, it is also a great safety tool for young children. Their parents' photos can be uploaded for reaching them quickly at work numbers or cell phones, and a pre-printed flash card for 911 provides fast, uncomplicated dialing to emergency responders.
Easy to use, portable and durable, there is nothing quite like the FotoDialer available on the market today. Picture phones tend to wear out and don't have the amount of numbers that can be programmed in and also require very small pictures that a lot of people can't see. Even the blind can use the FotoDialer as it has the option of a speaker button and the capability to add Braille or raised symbols in each photo slot to represent a person or place. Numbers and photos can also be changed at any time with quick and easy reprogramming. “We are delighted to introduce more consumers to the fabulous FotoDialer from IntelliSolve,” said Hulet Smith, Founder and CEO of Rehabmart. “This device has the potential to help a lot of different people, from young children to senior citizens, and those with varying disabilities, to enhance their independence, safety and communication.”
